Let Your Light Shine

In 1993 Rock band Collective Soul released a song that sounded suspiciously biblical – the words in part being “I'm gonna let it shine, I'm gonna let it shine, Heaven send a light, let it shine on me.” Biblically, heaven’s light is Jesus, himself, and in giving himself to us – his love, his righteousness – we are commanded to let that light shine before men.
