Peter's Sermon

Mar 8, 2021    Zack Pratt    Acts 2:1-41

After Jesus was crucified and rose again, he had a final encounter with them before His ascension and said: Acts 1:8-9 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.”

Jesus had ascended, but he left the disciples with the mission and the power source. To be witnesses empowered by the Holy Spirit. This mission now belongs to you and me as much as it belonged to Peter, Paul, and Phillip. And, so what can we learn from the Book of Acts regarding our mission, what to do and what to say? We will start our conversation in Acts Chapter 2:1-41 where the church begins, and Peter stands up to give the first post-ascension evangelistic meeting.
