Holy Holy Holy

It's not only the famous "Holy, Holy, Holy!" passage, but the historical context of Isaiah's day, the declining years of Uzziah including his leprosy and death, the end of a golden era in Israel (economically, militarily, and spiritually), have remarkable points of similarity and application for us today in the USA. And of course the heart of the Gospel is powerfully displayed in Isaiah's cleansing. When he cries "I am a man of unclean lips" he is using the same terminology for leprosy. And leprosy is what Uzziah dealt with his last 10 years. So when Isaiah says, "I am unclean!" he's standing in solidarity with the leprous king who just died.
