Sola Fide

The Reformation was a tumultuous time. People were oppressed by greedy land barons and a greedy church. Not only were they heavily burdened socially and economically, they were burdened with the impossible task of working for their salvation. What’s more, the rules for achieving heaven changed daily! Then, people started reading the bible and learned that even without the widespread corruption, it was impossible to please God. The burden was too great. Imagine their joy when they discovered a little word called “faith.”
